Hello and welcome to Urban Archaeology! I am a self proclaimed urban archaeologist. I work, hunt, and believe in thrift stores. I have always had a passion for excavating lost treasures from society and love sharing what I find. This blog is dedicated to special treasures I find along the way. Everything photographed will either be purchased at a thrift store, second-hand, or severely discounted.

I was a little hesitant to purchase these faux leather pants from Urban Outfitters, but...they were only $5. How could I pass that up? I doubt they will make a regular appearance in my everyday attire, but they were fun to wear with my vintage beaded sweater, thrifted for $5.

This is my last few days off before the spring semester begins again on Monday. To put myself in the academic spirit, I put on this vintage poodle sweater vest. It is the newest edition to my wardrobe and I couldn’t wait to wear it. I also made a trip to one of the local antique book shops in town. It is comprised of a maze of bookshelves and is always a pleasure to explore.

No. 12 J'taime

My Valentine’s Day inspiration continues to grow in January. I fell in love with this dress when I found it on the sale rack at my favorite consignment store. The open back is perfect for spring/summer. I thrifted the heels and Chanel inspired purse. I was so happy to brush the dust off of the beret I purchased in Paris four years ago for this outfit. It was the icing on the cake.

Dress $16
Heels $1.98
Purse $0.75
Beret $6

Here is an entirely thrifted outfit that I absolutely loved to wear. I wore this outfit to work and then for an outting to see Beauty and the Beast with my mom and little sister. It is both really comfortable and easy to put together but packs a big punch of style. What more could you ask for?

Most inspiration from Valentine's Day. I really love the color palettes inspired by this holiday.
This dress is one of my favorite thrifted treasures because I actually purchased it for 75 cents! Granted it's polyester and was floor length when I originally found it, a quick hem thanks to my wonderful mother, and it now sees better days. My jacket is also a thrifted denim American Eagle that I think I found for about $10 or so but I consider it a good investment. The belt and shoes were also thrfited and I found the trendy lace vest at Ross for $8 or so. Can't wait for Valentine's Day and another excuse to eat chocolate!

No. 9 Age of Wisdom

This week I've had the painful pleasure of having my widsom teeth removed. There is no greater relief than removing four teeth that just do not belong. Please pardon my chipmunk cheeks :)
Therefore, my attire this week has been strickly comfy inspired. I thrifted this entire outfit (as usual) from one of my favotire thrift stores in Sacramento, EcoThrift. I think in its entirity it might have cost $15. Oh, how I love bargain shopping.
